Health & Safety Specialist – Tacoma or Seattle (Regular, Full-Time)
As a Health and Safety Specialist, you’ll provide support for our health and safety programs company wide. You will be supporting business lines performing work in geotechnical, environmental, oil & gas, natural resources management and construction oversight business sectors. You will also help revise/update our program documents and associated training modules on common Health & Safety topics – HAZCOM, Vehicle Safety, Hearing Conservation, Respiratory Protection, Drilling and Heavy Equipment. You also assist in the routine preparation of job safety analyses, job hazard analyses and projects specific safety plans. As a Health and Safety Specialist you will work closely with the Health & Safety Manager, Human Resources, technical group managers and office administration to ensure the completion of specific health and safety-related actions and ongoing safety training.
Bachelor's degree in Industrial Hygiene (IH), Environmental Health, Health Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Toxicology or equivalent; Masters degree preferred.
Three years of experience administering health and safety programs.
CIH in good standing with the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) or CSP in good standing with Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP) preferred.
Knowledge of engineering and environmental remediation services preferred.
Familiar with HIPPA and PHI best practices and requirements.
Ability to utilize excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills when interacting with employees at all levels within the organization.
Demonstrated ability to build consultative, collaborative relationships with managers and staff at all levels.
High degree of proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
